After a fun (and hopefully relaxing?!) summer, it was nice to get back into the swing of things at Highland! On September 11 we had our official kick-off: bounce houses (did you see the one where you fell one story?!), hot dogs, the first TNT and youth group, live music...and snow cones! :) It was a fun and wonderful afternoon and it was great to see all my little friends again! :)
Our first TNT meeting - we bounced (yes, I actually jumped...as did Sarah and other parents!! terrifying! lol), ate pizza, discussed the year, and celebrated Paul's birthday.
The 3rd graders received their Bibles on the 18th. Congratulations! I want to see those Bibles being USED!!
We started Sunday school on the 11th after blessing and praying for our teachers. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help teach our children! You are definitely a blessing to them and me!
In September, the preschoolers learned a few stories - one was about Paul in jail! So they built a jail to see what it may have looked like :)
The kindergartners and 1st/2nd graders learned the story of Joshua and how the walls came "tumbling down"! :) In October they will be learning the story of Moses - specifically when he was a baby and how he brought the slaves out of Egypt (plagues).
This class decorated boxes, stacked them up, then made them fall down! I wish I'd gotten a picture or video of them knocking them down! But I did hear them...all the way down the hall ;) They had a blast!

The trumpets the K students made! First, they listened to songs and "drew" the sound...then they painted them! Beautiful work!
The 3rd graders have been getting to know each other, Ms. Parker and the Bible! In the month of September the class has read through the story of the Tower of Babel.
The 4th and 5th grade class have been enjoying their new curriculum as well!
